Lambswool Slippers from Upcycled Sweater, Women sizes 9.5, Tire Swings
SALE Lambswool Slippers from Upcycled Sweater, Women size 9.5 / Men size 8, First Snow

Upcycled sweater weather.

These slippers from Wooly Baby's Shop look amazingly comfy.
It's making me nostalgic for late night cocoa sipping under thick, warm blankets. (Sigh) So wishing we had a fireplace for this upcoming winter. Perhaps next year.

Sparkle and Glitter - The Light Up Silver Christmas Chapel

Sparkle and Glitter - The Light Up Christmas House

Sparkle and Glitter - The Light Up Christmas House Blue

I've already had to talk myself out of a small, meaningless purchase and it's been, what, 2 DAYS since I made this resolution to save for the important stuff? This self-discipline stuff is hard. I mean, just look at this Christmas cuteness.

Oh, and don't think that I'm aware that Christmas is a good three months away.
I know.
I'm crazy like that.

By the way, these glitter houses are apparently from Target's last year's Christmas line, and these particular pictures and houses are from The Pink Room's Etsy shop.

porcelain milk carton

So... Have any of you seen these clever ceramic milk carton pitchers? I first saw them a couple years ago, and upon seeing the price tags assumed they were some hot new designer thing. Nope. Totally a vintage ripoff. How do I know, you ask? I found myself one at the thrift store!
SO glad I didn't bite the bullet and purchase one when I first saw them. This one was much more appropriately priced for my budget.
I'll probably put it up into the shop someday. After I'm done drooling all over it, of course.

I'm more convinced than ever that you can find just about anything at the thrift store if you look hard enough for long enough. The hangitall, anyone?
Little Owl Dinner Plate

New in the shop!
Doesn't he remind you of Totoro? The raindrop-shaped markings on his belly are to die for.

In an effort to start curbing my spending habits, I've decided to start being a bit more organized about our needs and my wants. I've found that making a list keeps me a little more grounded and I make a lot less impulse purchases. It's good to keep a goal in mind. ;)

1. A hair straighter. Mine is dying a slow painful death, which has meant a lot of curly/natural hairdos lately. No bueno.

2. Our new bed. We've been talking about it forever, we need to put the money aside and stick with it.

3. New sheets for said bed. Also, I'm totally open to finding something similar and less expensive than these awesome striped West Elm sheets.

4. The Fine Little Day Splash pillowcase. It's currently sold out, but I'm holding out for a second round of them.

5. Thinking cat silhouette clock. It looks JUST like Spook. C'mon! (It's quite possible this need will die down, thus it is last on the list. We'll see. )

silhouette

I have a really crazy clock fetish that stemmed from absolutely nowhere about a year ago. These black silhouette clocks are sending electric shock signals to the "PURCHASE!" part of my brain. Also, how cute is this one and this one?

Loving these prints by Cassia Beck from her shop Violet May. The pops of color are fantastic.

Forgive me. I'm a bit interior-obsessed right now as we're doing more and more planning for our own home. This particular home is that of Katie Quinn Davies, which was featured on Design Sponge (have you figured out how much I love that blog yet?).
I L-O-V-E her couch. I've vowed to own something very similar someday when I'm not on a poor student's budget. I think she's got such a great balance between affordable and attainable (AKA Ikea) and Designer showroom pieces. Bravo.

Speaking of Scandinavian dream homes... this website has a collection of the most stunning white interiors I've ever seen. They have been my sole inspiration while decorating my own home.

MANDAL 6-drawer dresser white Width: 54 3/4
Trent is the greatest. He spent three hours yesterday assembling our new entertainment stand even though he was exhausted from a full day of work and school while I, on the other hand, watched documentaries and kept his thirst quenched. You don't need to tell me how spoiled I am.
We cut $50 from our asking price in our ad for our last sideboard, but we were so grateful for a buyer that neither of us minded one bit. Now that it's all done, I'm SO glad we did it.
I'm that much closer to my bright, white, Scandinavian-inspired dream home.

It's not TOO often that I come across things on Etsy that resonate with me so much that I can't talk myself out of buying them.
This was one of them.
This is the second purchase I've made from Alex Keller, and I absolutely can't recommend her and her shop enough.

Gah! I just think they're the cutest.

Those wooden buttons I ordered a few days ago made an unbelievably quick trip to my door, so I took the opportunity to put them to good use! I just bought this cardigan off of Forever 21's website, and the only thing that irked me about it was the cheap metal buttons.

What a difference!
Seriously!

Phew! Today has been a whirlwind. Trent and I had to record a video of us making a meal in ASL, and neither of us could do it without a few sips of beer to ease our jitters. It feels good to finally have it out of the way.

Also, we're currently trying to sell our credenza/entertainment stand in favor of the Ikea mandal, which meant that we finally had to fix the broken leg that has haunted us since the day we brought it home. It's been a lot of craziness emptying it out and managing to turn this insane 500 pound monster upside down to glue the leg back in.

Phew!

In other news... Lately I've been really digging the vintage hair pin curls look, so I tried it out last night by rolling sections of my hair into curls and pinning them while my hair was still wet. While not perfect, the results weren't half bad. In an effort to avoid the "Annie" look, I threw it up into a messy up-do.

Pin curls. Yay or Nay?

What do you think?

Set of 6 wood buttons - walnut

Look at these wooden darlings! I can't wait to pull off six generic plastic buttons and replace them with these. Thank you SO much, sweetheart. A reward for letting you play the new Halo on a school night, no doubt. ;P

Le Chignon - PRINT - LAST 2 ONES
Stella
Nicola
I just came across Maria's fantastic illustrations via I am a Greedy Girl and I'm totally in love. Look at those lines! Such amazing attention to detail. She's doing a giveaway on her blog right now, and I'm crossing both fingers that I get lucky.

Um, cutest find ever? I'm really torn between keeping it or putting it into the shop. I love these kind of dilemmas.

Went out with a new friend today. We went thrifting downtown and found a few really amazing things, which has me convinced that she's a good luck charm. Brunch at Le Madeleines where I bought pan au chocolat. Afterwards to Ikea where we took our sweet time in the absence of our men who are impatient with our girly love of home decor. All in all and VERY good Saturday.
